Community Art Crawl
Artist: Christos Pantieras
Location: The Cupcake Lounge (Westboro)
Taking care of oneself, and of others, varies for everyone as we tend to our physical and mental health. It may be a warm bath, a nap, a stroll, etc. For this project, Pantieras reflected upon the onset of the pandemic when many services were closed and people took care in adaptive ways. Like most, he took to cutting his partner’s hair, and vice-versa. The artwork references this act as the mat husk peeks out from the letters, mimicking head, facial, or body hair. The cloud-like paint application is a nod to meditation and to resting.
